You
may charge for the event or raise funds through stalls etc, but
the Fairtrade tea and coffee must be free
You might want to link up with neighbouring churches to host an
event together with a bigger impact in a strategic location
3. It is an outreach event for the churches, so outsiders
must be invited Information about Fair Trade should be
available at the place where the Big Brew Fairtrade tea and coffee
are being served
4. The more churches take part, the more people will be really aware
of a big event taking place
5. Traidcraft provides discounted catering packs and Big Brew posters
and flyers. To order these, download a Big
Brew order form
The scale of
the event is entirely up to the individual church – the benefit
is that all the churches are doing something for their community
on the same day. It generates fun, a sense of togetherness and promotes
Fairtrade both within the church and in the wider community, as
we work together to become a Fairtrade Diocese
The success
of individual church events will be based on the numbers that attend
– resulting from the church’s own publicity, but also
by general press and media coverage within the Diocese
Success for
the Diocese will lie in your enjoyment in taking part, and the number
of churches participating in sharing with their community the importance
to the producers of Fair Trade
The Fairtrade Foundation
has leaflets and posters about Fairtrade; bunting, T-shirts, aprons,
balloons and lots more
